Mayor Jason Reeves and his wife, Elly, were born and raised in Troy, Alabama and have enjoyed raising their four children here.
Jason, a graduate of Charles Henderson High School and Troy University, began his service to the City of Troy at a young age and, dating back to his high school and college years, was a leader in student government and active member of the community.
As one of the youngest people ever elected to the Troy City Council, Jason was a fierce advocate for the people of his district and earned the reputation as an honest and hardworking leader who put his community first.
Jason was first elected Mayor in 2012 and the people of Troy immediately began seeing the positive results of his leadership and his ability to work with other elected officials, business people and economic development professionals. Under his leadership, Troy has become a destination location for major corporations looking for a new home in a town with good infrastructure, a quality workforce and a close-knit community values. Since becoming mayor, hundreds of new jobs have been recruited to the area and the town's unemployment rate is the lowest that it has been in decades.
His vision for the revitalization for downtown Troy is quickly taking shape. Now filled with retail establishments, restaurants and loft style living, the downtown square area is now home to community events, festivals and family activities. The court square of today is a stark contrast from what it was just 20 years ago.
Jason knows that this community is special and that it is filled with people who share the dream of helping Troy reach its full potential while maintaining its small town charm. His ability to work with people from all over the city to make Troy the best it can be makes him a quiet but highly effective and always accessible leader.
